Surge Protection Philadelphia Lauterborn Electric was called to the Fishtown area of Philadelphia. The customer had a lightning strike that caused a lot of damage including destroying most of their LED lighting. The pictures show some of the lights dim and most of them off. We replaced 30 LED lights that had been compromised by the surge from the lightning strike. We also added an in panel whole house surge protector to prevent a future surge causing so much damage. Surge protectors are a great way to protect your electrical equipment including lighting, electronics and appliances. The picture shows the surge protector in the panel. It looks just like a breaker. Half Power Leads to a new 100 amp Service Lauterborn Electric was called to a home that had multiple things out throughout the house. When we are called out to a multiple trouble problem we check the main service first. We opened up the main panel and found half power, then we opened up the 100 amp meter socket and found half power. PECO had been called multiple times to the property and told the home owner it wasn’t the power coming from PECO. The meter had a bad jaw and the main panel had corrosion. The 100 amp service cable was frayed which lets water penetrate it when it rains leading to the problems in the panel and meter socket. The pictures show the old meter and panel and also the new 100 amp meter socket and 100 amp panel. For all your electrical needs contact your licensed Philadelphia electricians, Lauterborn Electric.
