My water heater is 3 years old and it doesn't seem to be working as well as I think it should. It doesn't seem to produce as much hot water. How often should I replace my water heater?

That’s great question! Water heaters can be frustrating at times. Luckily most new water heaters come with a 5 year warranty. Some even have up to 10 years warranty. There are a lot of things that can make your water heater work more efficiently. My first recommendation would be having a water softener hooked up to your system. Nothing can damage a water heater more than hard water. If you’re unable to have a water softener installed. Then regular maintenance is key to the longevity of your water heater. At the bottom of the tank is a drain. We recommend that our customers drain their water heater every 6 months, to flush out any sediment and build up of hard water debris. Whether your heater is gas or electric, this can be one of the best ways to ensure you have a water heater that lasts a long time.
