What is the difference between Geothermal and an air source heat pump? We have an answer! "A geothermal heat pump extracts heat from the ground where it is at a constant temperature (year-round). An air-source heat pump extracts heat from the outside air. Think of it this way, it's way easier to heat or cool your home, to a comfortable 70 degrees, from a more constant temperature of 50 degrees (geothermal) than it would be to use the extreme temperatures from outside(air-source), which could be extremely cold or miserably hot."
